The Welder's Daughter Origin story
Hey everyone! My name is Abby and I'm the founder of The Welder's Daughter. My journey to creating The Welder's Daughter in 2023 was fuelled by a desire for creative expression, and a fascination with the flourishing world of permanent jewellery.
The inspiration for TWD began after travelling through Australia and the United States in 2023, there I discovered permanent jewellery and was inspired by the way it can tell a story and mark special connections. Before returning to Aotearoa, I ventured into the bustling jewellery district of Los Angeles, brought my first supplies, and launched The Welder's Daughter.
Since then, I've journeyed across Northland, Auckland, and the Waikato, engaging with local markets and building connections with customers. My aim is to establish the first dedicated storefront specialising in Permanent Jewellery.
Now, I've moved on from markets and have been hosting pop-up events around Aotearoa, bringing permanent jewellery to new places and meeting incredible people along the way. We’ve even opened a permanent branch in the South Island, run by my amazing mum, Patrice. So, – where should The Welder’s Daughter pop up next?
